| Presentation Day Mass 19th November 2010 | |
Presentation Day is a special day for our school as we gather to say thank you to the Sisters of The Presentation Order for the work they do for the students and people of Galway. In the Spirit of Christ and Nano Nagle much of this work is done in secret and today we pray that God in His goodness will reward them for their unconditional love for those in their care. |

| Mass at the Opening of the School Year 2010 - 2011 | |
We recently celebrated our Opening Year Mass with the Theme of Together In Faith. As part of this celebration our Head Girl Cal Mc Loughlin and her assistant Lia Doolin along with Sr. Helen Hyland presented each student with an individual mustard seed as a symbol of her unique potential waiting to be actualized throughout this year and into the future. Good luck to all on this journey.
To conclude the ceremony our chaplain Fr. Martin Downey blessed a new Stained Glass Window in St. Joseph’s Church. This window has been named The Children’s Window and it was designed in commemoration of Jamie Stone and the deceased children of the area. |

| New First Years Mentoring Project ‘Big Sisters’ September 2010 | |
Each year Senior Students volunteer to act as ‘Big Sister’ Mentors for new First. Years. Each volunteer has charge of a small number of First Years. The Senior Students spend the Induction Days with the new students to help them to get to know each other; also to familiarize them with the school building and the new routine of secondary school life. Our ‘Big Sisters’ work in conjunction with each First Year Class Tutor. The overall aim of the programme is to make the initial transition to secondary school as positive as possible. Each new First Year student develops a connection with a senior friendly face Many thanks to the Galway Youth Information Office for their involvement and assistance in this project. |
