Annual Past Pupils Careers Fair 13 January 2012

Many thanks to all our Past Pupils who attended our Careers Fair. Over 50 students returned from their various courses nationally and locally to share their experience and wisdom with our current senior students. This fair is of valuable assistance in helping our Leaving Certificate Students with their final CAO University and College Choices. For list of presenters click here

Transition Year Mini Company Christmas Craft Fair - Busy Beads 15 Dec 2011


Sales Team : Shannon, Monika,Claire and Lauren with some of their products

Busy Beads , our Mini Company, held a very successful Christmas Craft Fair .
They produced a wide range of hand crafted products which were sampled, enjoyed
and purchased by many. Products included – Hand Crafted Christmas Decorations,
Friendship Bracelets, Cranberry Sauce, Mince Meat, Vanilla Fudge, Choclate Fudge,
Chocolate Truffles. Many thanks to our company members andto their
Business Teacher, Ms Fogarty and to Home Economicsteacher, Ms Lydon.

Little Chef’s Club December 2011

Music Technology with past pupil, Jane Nov 2011
Jane Cassidy completed a Degree in Music in Trinity College Dublin and subsequently a Masters In Music Technology. She now works in IMAGINOSITY, a Childrens' Museum in Dublin. Jane will be giving workshops to our Senior Music Students in the area of Music Technology.  Many thanks to Jane for her enthusiasm and commitment to our school!

Galway Science Week: November 2011
True Physics Show by Declan Holmes of Science Ireland

All our science students attended this Physics Show with Declan. This was very much a hands on show where students participated in activities and demonstrations. Flight, pressure, light, sound and electricity were some of the topics covered in a most informative and engaging manner. Many thanks to Declan and Science Ireland for providing this valuable opportunity.

Open Night 17 November 2011

Open Night was most successful and also enjoyable for our visitors.  Parents and prospective new students got a flavour of the excellence in teaching, learning and pastoral care which is the hallmark of school life. They heard a number of speakers including our Principal, Cliona Ni Neill, representatives from the Parents Association and past & current pupils.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

GMIT Open Day: 16th Nov 2011
Senior Students had the opportunity to experience at first hand a taste of GMIT College Life. Students attended workshops, lectures and presentations in the various disciplines in both Dublin Rd Campus and Cluain Mhuire Campus.
